What Is Salvation and How Is It Received?

Salvation is the rescue of humanity from the penalty, power, and ultimately the presence of sin. The Bible teaches that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone — not by human effort or religious performance.

Key Question

How is a person saved according to the Bible?

“Salvation is not a cooperative effort between God and man. It is entirely God's work — He initiates, He provides, He applies. Our faith is itself a gift, not a contribution.”

“Every other religion says 'do this and you will be accepted.' Christianity says 'you are accepted, therefore do this.' The order is completely reversed — and that changes everything.”

“Salvation is not about being good enough. It is about recognizing that you are not good enough and trusting in the One who was. That is the gospel in a sentence.”
