Is Jesus the Only Way to God?

John 14:6 — 'I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me' — is one of the most exclusive and controversial claims in the Bible. Understanding why Christianity makes this claim requires understanding what Jesus accomplished that no other religious figure did.

Key Question

Is Jesus really the only way to God?

Evidence

Key Scriptures (ESV)

John 14:6

“Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'”

Acts 4:12

“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

“The exclusivity of Christianity is not arrogance — it is the logical implication of the cross. If there were other ways to God, the cross was unnecessary. The very existence of the cross implies there was no other way.”

“Every worldview is exclusive. The atheist says 'there is no God' — that excludes all theists. The pluralist says 'all paths lead to God' — that excludes the Christian who says only one does. Exclusivity is unavoidable; the question is which exclusive claim is true.”

“I spent two years as an atheist journalist trying to disprove Christianity. The more I investigated the evidence for the resurrection, the more I became convinced that Jesus was exactly who He claimed to be.”
