Last updated: March 28, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using BibleCompass at thebiblecompass.org (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.
2. Description of Service
BibleCompass is an AI-powered Bible study platform that provides access to the 66-book Protestant Bible with features including AI commentary, semantic search, apologetics Q&A, prayer community, study notes, reading plans, and verse sharing. All features are available free of charge to registered users. The Service is sustained through voluntary financial contributions from users.
3. Account Registration
To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account through our authentication provider. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to update your information as needed.
4. Access Tiers
4.1 Guest Access
Visitors may browse BibleCompass as a guest with limited functionality, including access to the KJV Bible reader and basic search. Guest access is provided to allow users to evaluate the Service before creating an account.
4.2 Registered User Access
All features of BibleCompass are available free of charge to registered users. This includes unlimited AI commentary, apologetics Q&A, prayer community, multi-translation comparison (KJV, ESV, NIV, NKJV, NASB), verse highlighting, reading plans with streak tracking, study notes, verse sharing cards, and all other current and future features. No credit card is required. Feature availability is subject to fair use and may be adjusted to maintain service quality for all users.
5. Voluntary Donations and Financial Support
5.1 Nature of Contributions
BibleCompass offers users the option to make voluntary financial contributions ("donations") to help support the ongoing operation and development of the Service. Donations are entirely optional and are not required to access any features of the Service. Making a donation does not entitle the donor to any additional features, priority access, or special treatment beyond what is available to all registered users.
5.2 Not a Nonprofit Organization
BibleCompass is an independently operated website and is not a registered nonprofit, 501(c)(3), or charitable organization. Donations to BibleCompass are voluntary gifts to help support website operations and are not tax-deductible. Donors should not claim contributions to BibleCompass as charitable deductions on their tax returns.
5.3 Use of Donations
Donations are used at our discretion to cover operating costs including but not limited to: server hosting and infrastructure, AI and API service fees, Bible translation licensing, software development and maintenance, and general business operations. We do not guarantee that donations will be used for any specific purpose.
5.4 Payment Processing
Donations are processed securely through Stripe, our payment processor. Both one-time and recurring monthly donations are available. By making a recurring donation, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a monthly basis until you cancel.
5.5 Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel a recurring donation at any time. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle. Donations are generally non-refundable, as they are voluntary gifts. However, if you believe a charge was made in error, please contact us through our Contact page and we will review your request on a case-by-case basis.
6. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
BibleCompass uses artificial intelligence to generate commentary, apologetics answers, prayer guides, and other study content. While we strive for accuracy and theological soundness, AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or interpretations that differ from specific denominational teachings. AI content is provided for educational and devotional purposes only and should not be considered a substitute for personal Bible study, pastoral guidance, or professional theological counsel. Users are encouraged to verify AI-generated content against Scripture and consult trusted spiritual leaders.
7. Bible Text and Translations
BibleCompass provides access to multiple Bible translations including KJV, ESV, NIV, NKJV, and NASB. Bible text is sourced from publicly available and licensed sources. Each translation is the intellectual property of its respective copyright holder. The King James Version (KJV) is in the public domain. Other translations are used in accordance with their respective license terms and fair use provisions.
8. User Content
You retain ownership of all content you create through the Service, including study notes, prayer journal entries, and saved commentaries. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We will not share, sell, or use your personal study content for any other purpose.
9. Acceptable Use

11. Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability of the Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by service interruptions.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BibleCompass and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or reliance on AI-generated content. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the total amount of voluntary donations you have made to BibleCompass in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
13. Indemnification
