2 Timothy 3:17 — Meaning, Context & Commentary

To understand this verse, we have to look at the sentence right before it. Paul just explained that all Scripture comes directly from God and is useful for teaching, correcting, and training us. Here in verse seventeen, he gives us the reason why God provided His Word. The goal is that the believer would be fully capable and prepared for whatever God calls them to do.
